Message to the Membership
I am honoured to be considered a potential Board member of ACU. I feel I bring a wealth of knowledge from my vast employment, board, and community experiences. I have spent several years in the banking industry and more recently was the founding CEO of a small financial services company designed to meet the needs of First Nations people in Manitoba. Presently, I am in a senior management position responsible for new business ventures and development, soon moving over to create a new Human Resource department. I am a strong advocate for economic development, self-efficiency, community development and equaility. I share the same values of Cooperation, Integrity and Respect, Accountability and Execellence and feel I have a number of the competencies required to fulfill the role. My years with United Way of Winnipeg as a Board member and an employee embed my committment to the community and the people who live here. It would be an honour to serve on the board of Assiniboine Credit Union and I am up for the challenge. Thank you for considering me.

Q. |
ACU aims to have a Board that is representative of the members and communities we serve. We strive for gender balance, ethnic and cultural diversity, and diversity of age and life stage. A gap analysis of the current Board complement has been conducted and, in 2010, we’re looking for strong candidates with skills and experience in finance and environment.
To increase diversity on the Board we are also looking for strong candidates who are male, aboriginal, person of colour, person with a disability, active in the workforce, parent/guardian of school-age children.
Please elaborate on how your presence on the ACU Board would address one or more of these identified gaps. |
