Message to the Membership
Friends,
With a great pride in association with Assiniboine Credit Union (ACU), I come forward as a candidate for the upcoming election in 2011. ACU has proved its leadership by receiving prestigious honor from the Canadian Co-operative Association. I stand with ACU's corporational ethics and interests in community building. Since my membership with ACU for past 7.5 years, I have been witnessing ACU coming up with various promotions so as to blend different communities in the mainstream.
Aligning ourselves with the core values of ACU, I foresee a great potential for our collective strength. I would like more members come forward to contribute their thoughts regarding how to take socially responsible investments to the next level. United we win!
I seek your support and vote. This way, all of us continue to work together, and bring more perspectives towards growth.
Best Regards, Arvind Pal Singh Matharu

ACU aims to have a Board that is representative of the members and communities we serve. We strive for gender balance, ethnic and cultural diversity, and diversity of age and life stage. A gap analysis of the current Board complement has been conducted and, in 2010, we’re looking for strong candidates with skills and experience in finance and environment.
To increase diversity on the Board we are also looking for strong candidates who are male, aboriginal, person of colour, person with a disability, active in the workforce, parent/guardian of school-age children.
Please elaborate on how your presence on the ACU Board would address one or more of these identified gaps. |

With East Indian background belonging to Sikh religion, I bring very distinct representation to the Board. At age 38, I am father to two children, out of which daughter goes to St. Maurice School, and son goes to Cuddles Day Care in Winnipeg. |
Q. |
What would be your greatest contribution to the ACU Board? |
A. |
With a strong technical and managerial background, my qualities of being an avid traveler, able to speak multiple languages, result-oriented would bring a new face to ACU board. Being a well-educated community man, who is already recognized as ACU’s ambassador, more memberships and their faith in ACU will continue with my participation. |
